The possible new logo design for the Just One Dance Company…

Filed under: Alla Prima Paintings — Administrator @ 3:48 pm

Here is a possible new logo design that I’ve been commissioned to do for the Just One Dance Studio/Company run by Jose-Libaniel Rojas (who is an excellent Dancer/Instructor by the way) , based out of Belleville, NJ ( www.Justonedance.com ). I was given complete freedom in the design (sweet !). So I figured I could play around with the actual design of the number “1″ by combining a dancing couple’s silhouette into the shape of the number 1 as the starting point for it. I made several drawings for it…, though the one that Jose & I ended up choosing is the only one I’m posting at the moment here on the blog (I’ll be posting the other versions very soon). Initially I drew it, then scanned it into Photoshop to darken the outline somewhat, & then I layed in some flat colors…Though I still have to add shadows & the appropriate highlights to add some texture & form to the design.

Left over paint used to make an Abstract painting.

Filed under: Alla Prima Paintings — Administrator @ 4:36 am

Here is another Abstract painting I did using colors that were left over from my other more figurative paintings. Originally I did these in order not to throw out perfectly good oil paint, I ended up liking them so much that I decided to make a small body of work out of them! Its titled “Left Over Paint Into Abstraction 5.” This specific one is actually painted on my old palette…

Its been a busy year for me with several commissioned artworks (five so far), & I just went to Puerto Rico for 15 days (what utter fun that was!), so that explains somewhat briefly why I haven’t managed to post anything in the last couple of months…but I do have a few pieces of art that I just finished, so without rambling on any further here is one them, the commissioned Abstract Painting…Enjoy!!!
