Great! Are the paintings considered complete after when you feel that it is or by what is left on your pallete? Or both? I think it really works when you paint with what is left on your pallette. Even the residue that stays at the bottom of your turpentine jar! Awsome stuff.

I think a series of portraits in this way would be awsome. The more you fill in the negative spaces with imgaes the more interesting it gets. Great work man!

Hi Alfredo - nice collage, I think I see the following:

Top R - Jerry Gonzalez on flugelhorn...

...leaning over a picture of what looks like a 30's rumba band, Leucona's Cuban Boys?

Bottom R Ismael Rivera and to his L, Bryan Lynch?

L again is EP, above him is Lavoe, who is hovering above the cover of the Cachao album aka Cuban Jam Sessions in Miniature.

The mighty Arsenio Rodriguez front center, with Candido resting on his guitar.

Next to the LP hardwood bongos on the L is TP who is over a photo of, well not sure but that might be Benny More far L, it's bugging me because I know that photo but just can't place it!

Not sure who the saxophonist is on the far L, hard to tell but could be Bobby Porcelli, anyway, he's above Cachao leaving us with some dancers... Vernon and Irene Castle would be my guess.

Without knowing for certain I'll self-assess myself at a B Grade there!

Wow Freddy! You have been posting a lot of work. I think this cartoon version is definitely an improvement. I think it would be great if you can do another version that makes the hands a little more feminine. I have been struggling with a similar issue on a new drawing. Well keep posting! I'm loving being able to see works in progress and your latest stuff.

Peace!
Rick

Hey Alfredo! Nice work! I really can feel the love your puting into this piece. The composition plays well with my eyes. Maybe the impression of movement? And the reference of the African continent reminds me of one of Frank Bowling's paintings. I enjoy the colors too. Would like to see the piece in person some time. Keep it up!
